Hello Relatives and Youth! Our Generation Red Road Youth Talking Circle is being utilized to bring healing to our youth and educate them on community wellness. Although we do not blame our past, we must acknowledge it for healing. Our Youth Talking Circle will uplift our youth in learning about historical resilience. We encourage all youth to walk tall and proud in their power.

February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month #TDVAM. Dating violence is not traditional - our young relatives deserve healthy, respectful love. Teen dating violence is more common than adults realize. Join us in advocating & educating to stop dating abuse before it starts among our Native teens. Teen Dating Violence (TDV) is a term that covers a wide range of behaviors including physical and emotional harm, as well as stalking/cyberstalking which includes unwa...nted contact via email or social media and tracking software. TDV is also a public health problem that does not end with adolescence. Research supported by the National Institute of Justice has shown that victims of TDV, are likely to experience or perpetrate, some form of relationship abuse as an adult. TDV is preventable. Support the development of respectful, and nonviolent relationships can help reduce the occurrence of TDV and prevent its harmful effects. We can support Youth by helping them to learn the skills needed to manage feelings, and to communicate in healthy ways. If YOU are a Victim of this type of Crime and need Support or Assistance, call the National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline 1-866-331-9414 If you'd like to learn more abut this issue here are some additional resources: https://www.cdc.gov//inti/teendatingviolence/fastfact.html https://www.niwrc.org//special-collections-native-american https://www.teendvmonth.org/resources/ #BoundariesAreLove #DatingViolenceAwarenessMonth #NativeLoveIs
