Repost from: Marin County’s Housing and Safety Elements Update Two Housing Element Workshops! March 29, 6:00 - 8:00 PM: Housing Programs and Policies... The Housing Element addresses housing needs and barriers for the 2023-2031 period. In addition to identifying potential housing sites for development, the Housing Element also includes a section on goals, programs and policies that establish an action plan for the development and preservation of housing and affordable housing. This section must include meaningful actions that affirmatively further fair housing and address historical patterns of housing segregation. Join the County on Tuesday, March 29th from 6:00 8:00 PM for an interactive online workshop to discuss policy and program ideas. This is the fourth in a series of workshops. March 31, 6:00 - 7:00 PM: Additional Candidate Housing Sites (Novato's Atherton and San Geronimo Valley) Join the County on Thursday, March 31st from 6:00 - 7:00 PM for an interactive online workshop to discuss new candidate sites in Novato's Atherton and San Geronimo Valley. On March 15, the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission reviewed a refined candidate sites list provided by County staff. After direction given by the Board and Commission following community input, the units count was reduced and several candidate sites were removed from the list. To make up for that deficit, additional sites were suggested in Novato's Atherton and San Geronimo Valley. The sites that will be presented at this meeting are new and have not yet been considered by the Board and Commission. All are encouraged to attend. An updated recommended sites list will be posted on the County's Housing Sites webpage this week.
