#BlackHistoryMonth Majors Lynn and Osei Stewart (General Secretaries, Metro Los Angeles), with their children Joshua, Naomi, Jeremiah and Noelle. . Black History has been important to our family because it is our history. It gives our family a glimpse of what our ancestors contributed to America and a greater understanding of their sacrifices and struggles they endured so that we may live as free men and women. We must always continue to push forward in that great and ric...h history to make a lasting legacy that will touch lives and create a better future for our people and all Americans. . As we celebrate the accomplishments of Black leaders in our country, we also want to honor Salvation Army officers who have made a mark on both their community and ministry . Captains Purnell and Connie Hall #BlackHistoryMonth . Black history is our history and therefore important to our family because it reminds us of the struggles, pain, faith and fortitude our ancestors have had to endure. Their experiences pushed us to where we are today while fueling us to strive to create a better tomorrow for the generations to come. . As we celebrate the accomplishments of Black leaders in our country, we also want to honor Salvation Army officers who ha...ve made a mark on both their community and on the ministry. Captains Purnell and Connie Hall are our Corps Officers at the Bell Lighthouse Corps. When they aren't running Sunday service or delivering new programs for the Corps, they love spending time camping and fishing with their two children, Lillie and Josiah. . Follow them and support all of their hard work at Bell Lighthouse Virtual Corps. See more

Rest In Peace Secretary George Shultz our great statesman and friend of The Salvation Army. Both George and his wife Charlotte, also a great supporter of The Salvation Army and current Chief of Protocol for San Francisco, were frequent attendees at Army events, including The Salvation Army’s annual Holiday Luncheon. In 2016, Charlotte and her Mayors (she was Chief of Protocol for nine mayors), were celebrated for their support of the organization. And the couple was celebrate...d for their efforts at a Holiday Luncheon in 2009. As former Golden State Divisional Commander, Col. Joe Posillico said, George and Charlotte Shultz are a true gift to The Salvation Army. Whether donating time, providing ideas, or simply lending their name, it is consistently provided with selfless enthusiasm.
