Since #lakeoroville was completed in 1968, #salmon and #steelhead were stopped from accessing hundreds of miles of #spawning habitat! And it’s been all down hill since then. Now the #featherriver in #norcal struggles to keep #kingsalmon something our kids will learn about in history class. Sadly as a country we were able to put a man on the moon that same decade, but failed at figuring out a way for salmon to make it over a 770’ dam. Certainly not rocket science. In fact 100 years prior to Lake Oroville’s existence. A mining company built a sluice box 14 miles long on a mountain that runs beside the now existing dam. Something that would have more then been more then adequate to allow salmon to pass by the dam. Point being...Department Of Water Resources #yousuck # #thanksbutnothanks
