Today our game prizes were Clown Noses...... Miss Grace (especially) and Miss Frances were good sports and gave us all a chuckle!!! Also meet our newest participant, Mr Rudy!!
Today we celebrated Mr Joe's half birthday- a wonderful 94.5!!! The fundraiser his family and friends started for the center yesterday has already reached over $800!! Thank you everyone today and always.....
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=550606482980054&id=1231771863 This family is always giving back to SAV!! We are so lucky to have them in our corner; especially when we simply feel BLESSED to be able to serve them!! We have used funds from these campaigns to purchase games, crafts, etc as well as the added cleaning and sanitizing materials we had needed last year. We were able to gift every one of our participants with molded hand prints that I hope everyone treasures. These monies have also helped us be able to reduce or waive fees when our SAV familes are having financial difficulties. Thank you Tovars for once again celebrating Mr Joe's half birthday on our behalf!
Misc pictures of fun and games!! Many of these items were donated from the Amazon wish list that was previously set-up. Thank you again to all that purchased supplies!!
We will be celebrating Mardi Gras all week. Here are a few pictures from today, most haven't been received yet; but gives us something to look forward to!! We also tried out our musical balls today!!
https://www.facebook.com/WVTM13/videos/143319607621558/ Who has seen this video?? So many people have messaged it to me saying they would love to see us do this at SAV.....and guess what??? Today I was blessed with the gift of 12 set ups!!! 12....... Wow, I am in shock, thank you so much Celinda Bustos (daughter of our Miss Grace) for the very generous and FUN donation!!! When I had been contacted about this I had said we had 12 participants but 6 sets would be most appreciated. When I picked them up this morning, I had no idea I received 12. THANK YOU AGAIN!!! Videos to be coming soon
Everyone's projects came out so great!! There are 2 missing from this video that went home yesterday, but I was so pleased that all our guests participated!!
Day 2 of our Valentine Celebration..... More precious pictures of our loved ones sweethearts and a day of fun and games. Or as Mr Frank said "pure chaos" lol!! That man would play BINGO the ENTIRE 5 hour day if allowed, hahaha. So arts and crafts and games (except BINGO) for prizes was not particularly his favorite. But we have a new participant and "YES Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus!" (aka Mr Brian). He won our Valentine prize and Miss V had wanted it so bad. At the end of the day, Mr Brian presented it to her as he left. What a wonderful gesture and a beautiful way to make her first day one to remember!!! Miss Jeanne loves being helpful with cleaning up and Mr Glenn was presented his Super Bowl prize too :)
Mr Joe finally got to make his Santa hand today!! We also played our dice around the table game and everyone got to take home a stuffy donated by SPAR (Special Paws Animal Rescue) Miss Pearline may have traded hers a time or two, she couldn't decide which one she liked the best...... I think she and Miss Eileen ended up with each other's at the end of the day. Mr Frank btw WAS trying to look "scared" of this little dog. He can be quite the character lol
There is ALOT going on in these pictures, and I apologize. My camera roll is full between Respite, the School, and my personal life!! We have been busy, between our daily stetches, and Christmas activities. Our Seniors wrapped books and wrote little notes on them to be distributed at the DLC party last week. Mr Brian made cookies and brought in for everyone to decorate and eat, we got "Elfed" last week and we also were able to listen to the children sing us some Christmas carols. We also had a lovely gift arrive of cards and ornaments made by another learning academy which will be passed out this week. I love how some of the cards were made as a 3d effect where they were folded and as you open it they grow! Now that I have all these pictures up, I can start fresh with our celebrations that will be happening today and tomorrow!!
Omg, we have had so many fun activities going on this week!!! I will start with our yummy edible houses and hand print Santa Clauses.....
Today we were so BLESSED by 2 unexpected donations. One for $300 and another for $1000!!! Thank you to Bruce Prybylinski from G3 Enterprises for nominating us (the local sand refinery on Vasco Rd) and for the Friends of Joe Tovar. (Not sure if I can/should mention their name....). You are ALL appreciated !!! The little light bulbs btw are fingerprints of all of today's participants
Some more AWESOME pictures from Thursday's animal therapy visit. Again, I cannot THANK these ladies ENOUGH for their generosity of time. It made our Seniors so HAPPY!!
I just love these faces, Mr Glenn's, Mr Joe's, THE PUPPIES!!
Just a small sampling of pictures from today's animal therapy visit! BIG thanks to Julie and Stephanie for visiting us. We look forward to you coming again soon. More pictures will be posted later this evening :) *If any of you are ever looking for a furry non-profit to donate to, please consider Special Paws located in Discovery Bay!!*
With Christmas coming up and people using Amazon in general, please remember to set your Smile account ti give back to Saint Anne Village. Thank you!!
Today was a puzzle kind of day and there are a few pictures from Friday as well. We asked our participants to list the 5 things they were most thankful for. The ones that could understand and complete the task had some really sweet things to say! And those that didn't fully understand still wrote their names and other words which used their brain as well.
Don't forget to view our sister page for our Distance Learning Program
Today we went back to our old building for fun and games for Mr Brian's birthday. It seemed like "Home", so who knows, maybe the Seniors will be moving back across the lawn....... (my husband probably won't be thrilled, but he will concede for our lovable friends) We wish Mr Brian a Happy Birthday and he and his lovely Bride a Happy Anniversary as well!!
Today we were able to cast Miss Grace's hands (our gift from Mr Joe's 1/2 birthday fundraiser) We are almost complete with everyone's (it has been a process for sure) Thank you again Mr Joe for the wonderful, everlasting gift!
As promised, I am trying to be more diligent about daily pictures!! Here was an a small insight into our Thursday. Lots of laughs were had with our small group of 5!! We are all so blessed.....

Our sweet Cassidy has been running the distance learning center the past few weeks. I could always count on her to take pictures for me through out the day. I am trying to be a bit more mindful of how much you all need these to get a glimpse into your loved one's day.
In our world that is hurting so badly right now on so many levels, please take time to remember our Seniors! I am so grateful that we have been able to open back up and have a safe, loving environment for those in need!
