It is easy to remember Father Antonio's birthday as it falls usually on the same day we celebrate Halloween. Right before our Halloween Parade, Father Antonio received our wishes for a wonderful birthday with a delicious present and hand made cards by our students. Happy Birthday, Father Antonio!

This past week began another exciting year in music, with the start of our Jazz Band, Beginning and Intermediate Band, and the Competitive Drum line practices.

We welcome Mr. Bruno Cilloniz back as our Band Director. This year will be better than ever. Our practices will be taking place after school in Cirilio Hall. We will have Beginning Band for Grades 4-8 for those learning to play an instrument; Competitive Jazz Band for Grades 6-8 students; and a Competitive Drum Line for Grades 5-8. Autumn is a wonderful time at Saint Anne School! Our walls come alive with orange, yellow, pumpkins and fall leaves. Cooler temperatures are just around the corner (we hope). Our Preschool and TK students have been working hard to share their love for fall

Students in Grades Preschool through Grade Six had a wonderful first week of school. Although all were experiencing the new reality of face masks, desk shields, and social distancing, there were no sad faces. With the faculty evaluating each day how things were going, new schedules were created that helped increase a better flow for the day, more learning minutes, and a more relaxed atmosphere.

Saint Anne School had their COVID Waiver approved on Monday, September 7th, and so on September 8th we welcomed our Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten students to school until noon. On September 9th we welcomed our Grade 3-6 students, as 7th and 8th are not included in the Waiver. We are hoping to have our 7th and 8th graders come around September 22nd. On September 10th we began full day for Preschool through Grade 6 with Grades 7th and 8th Distance Learning.... We thank God that we can once more be together as a school community and learn and grow in God's grace.

This week our teachers will begin to decorate their classrooms, prepare student desks and arrange their rooms. Planbooks will soon be done and exciting lessons prepared. We are grateful for our dedicated faculty and staff who always go more than 100% for our students. Soon we will be seeing our parents for the parent meetings and then our students for the SQUIRT YOUR TEACHER drive by and for the TAKE A PEAK DAY with our TK and Kindergarten students.

Henri Enriquez and Thomas Gallegos with the support and help of the following people: Gus Osterkamp, Rick Muth, Claudia Castillo, David Ontiveros and other donations from Northgate Market held a two day food drive at Saint Anne School this past week. We are grateful for all their continued dedication to the families of Saint Anne School. Both are alumni of Saint Anne's!

We are excited and proud to announce that Mr.Kirk O'Neill has been nominated for the 2020 Top Teacher of Orange County award by Parenting OC. Mr. O'Neill just received this news from Todd Spitzer, District Attorney, in a formal letter. Mr.O'Neill has been a part of Saint Anne School Community for over 30 years and through his hard work and extraordinary talents as an educator continues to enhance our dynamic and vibrant school community. This school year has been a very challenging one and so this award means even more to all of us at Saint Anne's. Congratulations Mr. O'Neill!
