Last two workshops of the year. I hadn’t planned on offering these, but with the sheer number of conversations I’ve had this week alone with my colleagues and friends, I figured I’d put it out there. In addition to my Diversity & Antiracism workshop, I’m offering an open forum completely donation based in hopes to help facilitate a group discussion on how the current state of the world is impacting our work and wellbeing as clinicians. Link in bio for more information. I’m so excited to be in conversation with you. #antiracisttherapists

I have to remind myself that rest is my right, not a privilege. This week I was invited to explore my joy with a group of incredible women and everything I came up with linked directly to how I feel in my body, my feelings, my calmness, my rest. My joy did not stem from how much work I got done, how many pages I wrote, how many clients I saw. My joy did not live in my productivity. Later in the week, in the midst of a dissertation meltdown, my friend Nicole made this connec...tion for me again, gently putting words to the need to rest in order to connect to our passions and joy. Today, I opened my planner and found a note I had jotted down months ago, randomly on this page in October a quote by Rumi that spoke again to joy. Taking this as a sign to exhale, explore and rest. Today I work. Tomorrow I rest. Finding balance in the chaos isn’t always easy, but it is so needed. Hoping this weekend holds some rest and a lot of joy for you all See more

How do we connect with ourselves? This question seems broad and is often answered with answers like self care or taking time for myself vague spaces that often don’t hold real meaning. When I think about how I belong to myself, I think about myself across a spectrum. I think about how I belong to myself in different contexts, in my relationship, in my friendships, in my family, in mothering, in my profession. When I frame it under that lens, I’m able to find threads t...hat connect through those experiences, threads that connect present me to past me and future me. I’m able to sit in the wholeness of my self, and in doing that, I’m able to hold space to connect with the people in my life. I’m able to expand my belongingness beyond myself and into the things/people/spaces I love. Some Friday thoughts I wanted to share with you all

Keeping this conversation going. I had several requests for an evening offering of my workshop, so here it is. If you’ve been seeking a space to learn more about antiracism, diversity and inclusion in clinical practice, if your wanting a space to sit in conversation with peers, if you’re looking for a place to start/continue this work, I hope you’ll join us. A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to @thelovelandfoundation Link in bio to register.

I have spent so much of my existence questioning my own experiences and their realness. Questioning my intuition. Questioning my truths. Questioning my wholeness. ... Questioning my knowing. I’ve experienced gaslighting in relationships on every level with partners, friends, family, and even within myself. It’s taken years of work to get to a place where I trust myself in my wholeness, without condition, to radically embrace and honor my lived experiences. I don’t think that it is a coincidence that I found a career where I work with people in a space that is validating and vulnerable. A space co-created to hold the truest versions of the people I sit with week after week. In that space, I find a piece of healing within each experience I have with my clients. A reconnection to my purpose and passion. A connection to myself.
