SPECIAL EVENT UPDATE: Professional Firework Shows such as Big Bang on the Bay and Queen Mary will not be taking place this year due to the ongoing health emerge...ncy and to prevent large gatherings which are prohibited under current State orders. Additionally, we will not be issuing block party permits for similar reasons. Events like fireworks shows and block parties encourage large gatherings, and such gatherings are not permitted per the State of California. Long Beach Department of Health & Human Services (LBDHHS) officials continue to advise residents to practice proper preventative measures while celebrating safely like: Maintaining 6-foot distance from people not in your household Wear a mask Wash your hands Sanitize high-touch surfaces As a reminder, all fireworks are prohibited in Long Beach, including "Safe and Sane".
