You don't want a buyer to fall in love with your house because of the custom chandelier you had installed and then rescind their offer when they find out the chandelier is not part of the sale. The law says that anything bolted to the wall or ceiling goes to the buyer unless specifically excluded in the contract. If you want to take your TV mount, chandelier, or custom pot rack, be sure to label it as soon as the house goes on the market, so that buyers don't bank on owning ...that item and wind up disappointed. We said goodbye to this house yesterday! It was a crazy few days of packing and cleaning for the new owners, but we have officially handed over the keys. There are so many good memories in this house, and Keith did such a great job in creating a backyard oasis here. It was sort of sad leaving it, but I'm excited for our next journey. The next house will be even more "ours," and have even more great moments.
