We are making a come back this winter! In order to adapt and keep our students safe we will be running smaller 9 person ensembles. It's different, but we are making it happen! 2 pep bands, 2 winter guards, a battery ensemble, and a percussion ensemble. 2021 here we go! #stingersup

Today was the final day of the 2020 "Season" for the Sacramento State Marching Band. It was not the Fall we wanted or hoped for, but we persevered! We'll be sharing some of our virtual projects from the season soon!

Closes December 11th! Girls March is conducting a survey to collect information about women's experiences with marching carriers. All women, AFAB, trans, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming folks are welcome to participate. We all know marching carriers historically have not been created with women in mind, so we need to hear directly from YOU! The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. Please share it FAR and WIDE with your colleagues and your students! We hope to ...hear from a variety of people, from current and former marching band members to DCI/WGI/HBCU professionals past and present. The more information we gather, the better! When I came to @sacstate as a freshman, I was way in over my head. If it were not for the people in the marching band and my director Jeff Edom, I would not have survived that year. The marching band opened me up to feeling connected to the school and a proud part of the Hornet community. I had the privilege to work under then director Clay Redfield who taught so many lessons that I have been able to carry over into my career as music educator. When I got the chance to come back become the director in Fall 2018, it was surreal. I owe a lot to my time in the Sac State Marching Band and I'm honored that I get to lead this Big, Loud, and Proud group of Hornets. #givesacstateday has one single focus students first. We ask that you mark your calendars for April 24, the second annual Give Sac State Day fundraiser, to support our students, programs and campus. In these uncertain times, we may not be able to gather, rehearse or perform, but we can still join together to support the causes we care about most.
