Dear all, First of all, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Wonderful New Year! Although we've had a very trying year, our parish has been blessed with such immeasurable kindness and generosity from various families and individuals ending this year on a good note and a glimmer of hope. I'm not only referring to the financial aspect to it but also the time and effort people made to assist those in need. The future looks uncertain but ultimately God is in control and our faith... and trust should rest solely on Him. To spread this love, positivity and kindness, the parish will want to also give back. As some of you have gone online to watch the masses on Facebook, you will notice that there is a tally of how many views a given livestreamed mass has had. It also shows/measures how popular or unpopular I am or whether I deserve some primetime slot or not. Just kidding. Anyhow, this is how it will work. For every "view" of the livestreamed mass, the parish will donate $2.20 (Year 2020) to the St. Vincent de Paul Society to help the poor in our area. Views during the live broadcast of the mass are the only ones that will count and not views after the masses are over. You will help the poor in our area just by watching the mass while also receiving the grace of our Lord Jesus on the occasion of his birth. And just an added twist, the parish will give away $220 to whoever can correctly give the answer to this question after each mass: (you won't be able to give the right answer unless you actually watch the mass online). Since there are 2 masses, $220 will be split by 2 winners. In the manger scene in front of the altar, there is a rather curious "politically correct" figure. This figure was never "technically" mentioned in the Bible. It was actually mentioned in the Bible but rather vaguely. What is it? The winner will the person who gives the answer on the comment section. And someone please have this e-mail translated in Spanish so the Hispanic community can also participate.
