Was Your PPP Loan Less Than $50,000? Life Just Got (A Little Bit) Easier according to Forbes (link below). Instructions on the new form 3508S makes clear that for this class of borrowers, forgiveness will still not be automatic. So where’s the good news? Several of the issues that make the standard application for forgiveness so confusing and time-consuming have now been removed for these small borrowers. Specifically, a borrower of a PPP loan of less than $50,000 is no lon...ger required to reduce the amount eligible for forgiveness if the borrower: 1) Reduces the salary or hourly wage of an employee (who earned less than $100,000 in 2019) during the covered period following the borrowing relative to the first quarter of 2020, or 2) Reduces full-time equivalent employees (FTEs) during the covered period relative to a base period. Stated in another way, a borrower of a PPP loan of less than $50,000 may apparently slash salary and fire FTEs with impunity. And while this new reality may run completely contrary to the initial intent of the PPP, it’s welcome relief to those tasked with applying for forgiveness. https://www.forbes.com//was-your-ppp-loan-less-than-5000/
How much money will you need after you retire? Likely less than you think. A recent Employee Benefit Research Institute study found that people in the United States who retired with more than US$500,000 in savings on average still had 88 per cent of it left 18 years after retirement. That is too much. Those people are being overly cautious, said Vettese. He suggest people should try to have about 60 per cent left at that time.... By the time they’re 75 or 80, they may be a lot more confident their money will last but by that point in time they’ve lost either the ability or the inclination to spend and so it keeps on building up." Wondering if you can use rental losses to reduce your taxable income? Maybe. The answer is always maybe. https://www.forbes.com//president-trump-used-rental-losse/
Tax School 101: Ya can’t deduct costs for personal appearance! Tax documents obtained by The New York Times show that during the making of The Apprentice, he deducted $70,000 for the cost of his haircuts and hairstyling. Trump's businesses also wrote off "at least $95,464 paid to a favorite hair and makeup artist of Ivanka Trump," the Times reported.
ESG investing offers a way for you to invest in funds that consider environmental, social, and governance issues like natural resources, community impact, or gender diversity on corporate boards. It's a great option if you're looking to complement your portfolio with funds that reflect what matters most to you.
We had a good run. RIP
#Repost @yellowrunner Nothing lasts forever. Not the initial sting of loss. Nor the elation of triumph.... For as much as we long for a season to stay, it was always meant to change. And nothing lasts forever; no matter how dismal: nor weary. It will change. A tender touch; A glorious sunrise; A joyful welcoming; A transition will come. And nothing lasts forever; so face this mountain with me. We’ll climb together with heavy hearts and tired legs. Because nothing lasts forever, my dear friend. We get this one chance, To live; and live fully- No matter the season we’re in. -yellowrunner ********************************** Sending big love to YOU tonight. Yes, 2020 has been full of surprises; challenges; and devastation; and sadly, so much bitterness and dissension. I’m lying here heavy hearted for so many reasons; thinking of specific people; praying for massive communities. And one thing remains to be true- we need love. My hope is we spread a little more love; a little more grace; and walk up these mountains together. We need each other and I promise you...this season won’t last. Keep your heart up dear friend- you are so loved. #youGotThis See more
