Our board members spent this evening celebrating some amazing young students at Mango's Sacramento. Our 2021 scholarship awards ceremony was a little smaller than usual, but it was great to get back to some sense of normalcy after this unprecedented year. Congratulations to all of the recipients! It was a pleasure to meet you and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Thank you to Chief Marchese and the Sacramento Sheriff's Toy Project for their continued partn...ership. Thank you so much to Joe Gomez, the owner of Mango's Sacramento, for his continued support and hospitality. Thank you to the scholarship committee members for taking on the task of reviewing the scholarship applications and making the difficult decisions of selecting the recipients. Thank you to all of our members for their support and hard work in organizing events and raising funds so we can continue our philanthropy work.

Congratulations to Sacramento County Chapter member and former treasurer, Heber Ramos! Heber works for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in March of 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic brought so many things to a screeching halt. Heber was finally able to celebrate with peers and loved ones at an intimate promotion ceremony on October 26th. Way to go Heber!

The Sutter County Sheriff's Office is recruiting for two Deputy Trainee positions. This is a position where the Sutter County Sheriff's Office will sponsor the... two people in the Butte Police Academy, which starts in January of 2021. We will fly this position starting Friday, October 2nd until Monday, October 19th. You can apply at NEOGOV. There will be a physical agility test on Wednesday, October 28th, a written test on Friday, October 30th, and a oral panel on Wednesday, November 4th. Come join a great team and great family! We are looking for highly motivated individuals that are looking to improve Latino representation in law enforcement, and want to make an impact in our community through community service and mentorship.
