CRAGS 23.12.2020

Check out what CRAGS and the Access Fund have been up to out at Lover's Leap! A huge thank you to the Access Fund-Jeep Conservation Team and all of our hardworking volunteers. If you're interested in getting involved, stay tuned for trail work events coming in 2021 or donate to the Access Fund! Donate right now, and Black Diamond will match your gift, providing 2x the amount of funds to restore climbing areas.

Spread the word: all National Forest lands in California are CLOSED as of 5pm today in an effort to limit potential fire starts and avoiding leaving people trapped if fires spread. Closures will be effect until further notice - we'll do our best to let you know when areas start to reopen. Please DO NOT enter Forest Service lands until the Forest Service announces that it's safe to do so. CRAGS is cancelling our volunteer event at Lover's Leap this weekend. We hope to resume our trail work at the Leap sometime soon when conditions allow. We'll keep you posted. Stay safe everyone!

Our Highway 50 Revival Project kicked off today at Lover’s Leap! We’re excited to be working with the Access Fund over the next few months to give the Leap some much-needed love. If you want to help out, you can come join us on one of our (socially distant) work days! Check out our events to RSVP.

Our Highway 50 Revival Project kicks off this weekend at Lover's Leap! We're looking for small groups of volunteers to come help us and the Access Fund Conservation Team restore trails and belay pads at one of our favorite local crags. Check out the dates below and sign up to help out! We will be limiting the number of volunteers at each work day, so if your plans change please be sure to update your RSVP.

We are SO EXCITED to announce that we’ve reached our first funding goal for the Highway 50 Revival Project and we will begin work at Lover's Leap next month! We'll be partnering with @accessfund trail crews to restore trails and belay pads throughout the Leap and protect the area for years to come. Thank you to all who have donated and volunteered time and energy to get us to this point. Our work is just getting started and we'll be looking for volunteers to help our trail crews. We will be taking additional precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy, including limiting the size of volunteer groups, spreading out while we work, and extra cleaning of any shared equipment. Stay tuned for volunteer events coming up in August, September, and October!

We'll be going LIVE right here on Facebook to read you climbing trivia questions. Here's how it's going to work: -tune in to this live stream -gather your team of up to 5 people together (via Zoom, Google Hangouts, whatever you like)... -select one person to submit answers for your team using this form: https://tinyurl.com/y9dtjhho -be sure to pick a team name! your team will be submitting that same form once for each round, and we want to be able to keep track of team scores -at the end we'll announce the top three teams and they'll win prizes! The event is free, but we're suggesting a $5 donation per person to help support CRAGS's work protecting climbing access and preserving climbing areas in Nor Cal. Plus, anyone who donates during the event (any amount) will be entered into a raffle to win additional prizes! You can donate to CRAGS on our website here: https://www.hwy50revival.norcalcrags.org/

Thank you all for your support, but given the current situation we are cancelling Saturday's Adopt-A-Crag at Rocklin Boulders. We look forward to rescheduling this cleanup event at a later date. In the meantime, you can support CRAGS by voting for our Highway 50 Revival Project to win funding through the Access Fund's Climbing Conservation Grant program! This grant money would go a long way to helping us restore and protect Lover's Leap. https://bit.ly/2wUAd6l
