Sad to hear that Sensei Hunt is leaving Auburn. We wish the best for him and his family and to the dojo there, which we will support in any way that we can.

We had class at Gold River Sports club Thursday night on the lighted tennis courts. It actually was perfectly fine. We all dressed warmly and wore shoes of course. So we will continue the Tuesday/Thursdays night classes at Gold River on the tennis courts as long as it is not raining or gets too cold. For this week, there will be class on GR tennis courts on Tuesday. No class on Thursday and outside(free) class on Sunday, 11/29 at 2:00 to work off those Thanksgiving calories.

Classes resume at Gold River Sports Club on November 3rd. Classes will be Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:30PM to 8PM in the Group Exercise room. Bring masks and hand sanitizer. Masks are not required when we are maintaining social distancing, but when we do not, masks are required and hand sanitizer before and after.

Indoor classes at Gold River Sports Club are on hiatus until we go back to Red Tier for Covid-19 for Sacramento County. We will have an outdoor class this Sunday afternoon at 2:00PM 3:30PM on Gold Strike drive on the lawn, as it is supposed to be warmer and sunny. Wear shoes and coats, etc. as needed, but wear your Gi, if you have one. Bring masks and sanitizer as well. All outdoor sessions are free and open to anyone who would like to join in. ... We had a nice class last night at Gold River, with Jack, Tom, Tommy, Sean, Justin, and Merrick. I really appreciate the turnout for our first class back in the club. Parking wasn’t too bad with the polling impact. FYI, per the club, all classes are separated by 15 minutes to clean the room and air it out, and doors are left open during classes. Not sure why the club wanted us to take the 6:30 time slot, perhaps for future planned classes, since the only scheduled classes bef...ore our karate class currently ends at 9:15AM on Thursday and 10:15AM on Tuesdays. There was no one in the room when I got there at 6:00PM, so feel free to come early and workout on your own before class. As I mentioned last night, don’t forget about the Avi Rokah Zoom seminar this Saturday from 10AM to 4PM, with break for lunch. Cost is $40. No outside class planned for this weekend due to the seminar with Sensei Rokah, but if the weather is decent, we can plan on one the following weekend.

The plan is to be back inside starting November 1st at Gold River Sports Club. We will likely be changing training days to Tuesday and Thursday so that we can use the group exercise room, but still waiting for final confirmation. In the mean time, we are still training outside in a Gold River green space area on Mon and Thurs, 6:00PM to 7:15PM-ish.

No outdoor class today. Air quality is still too poor.

Class today outside at 6:00PM CANCELLED. Air quality is still not good enough to train outside and has gotten slightly worse.

Air quality Is under 50 in Gold River and is expected to remain in that zone through Friday, so we will have class on Thursday, Sept 3rd, 2020, unless there is a significant, unexpected deterioration in air quality. It is now totally dark by 8PM so we need to move the class up to 6:00PM 7:30PM. If you can not make the earlier time, just join when you can. ... There will be no class on Labor Day, September 7th. Rest in peace, Sensei Jerry Fitzpatrick. He was doing karate moves just yesterday in his bed. A true karateka and a dear friend. He was one of a kind.
