We take your safety seriously... and that means maybe getting creative with new vendors for PPE (check out our Space Force bouffants ). The best part is you can see the big smiles under our masks!
As of yesterday, May 11, 2020, we are beginning to integrate non-emergent, routine care in our oral surgery practices, following guidance set forth by the state of California Department of Public Health and the California Dental Association. We know that our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to y...our safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example: Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients arriving at the same time. You will be asked to remain in your vehicle as opposed to the reception area. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.
Keeping spirits high in CDC-compliant PPE, doing our part in helping patients avoid the emergency room. SOS is seeing emergencies ONLY. Please call us with any questions.
Update: The surgeons and staff at Sacramento Oral Surgery are constantly reviewing updated guidelines outlined by the ADA, CDC, WHO, and County of Sacramento. In doing so, we will continue to limit our care to emergency patients only. We want our referring doctors and patients to be aware of the following adjustments: -We will only be seeing patients that are in good health (no fever, flu symptoms, respiratory issues, etc.). ... -We ask that patients arrive at their scheduled times so as to avoid unnecessary contact with one another. -Patients over the age of 60 will be screened more extensively to better ensure their safety -Our offices will be closed to walk-in care but will be available via phone M-F 8am-5pm with an after-hours answering service to assist with any emergencies that occur outside of the normal window. -Surgeons will be on a rotating schedule at a centralized location so we are able to help patients from all over Sacramento more conveniently. -We are available for questions via email at [email protected] -- these come directly to the Director of Operations who will get back to you promptly We appreciate your flexibility and understanding; your safety and that of our community is our top priority, so adhering to the standards outlined by our affiliated organizations is exceedingly important during this time. On behalf of the staff and surgeons at Sacramento Oral Surgery, we are here for you. We thank you for trusting us and are privileged to be able to serve our community in such trying times.
With the ongoing spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the incredible speed at which things are changing around us, we are continually adapting to what is needed most in our community. We take the guidance of the CDA extremely seriously and have made the decision to restrict our scope to emergency surgeries only at Sacramento Oral Surgery beginning today, March 16, 2020. To reiterate, we are open for true emergencies only at this time as we look to protect our community and teams. Our front offices will be staffed to accommodate any questions you may have and our doctors have committed to being on-call should there be a need. The safety of our communities is our #1 priority at this time and we hope you and your families stay out of harm's way.
