From USA Softball-Sacramento PRACTICES ARE NOT ALLOWED UNDER CURRENT COUNTY AND STATE ORDERS. USA Softball would like to remind teams that the season is currently suspended until and unless the stay at home orders are lifted by county and/or state officials. ... Many coaches are trying to interpret the individual county orders as allowing recreational activities. However, those statements do not apply to organized youth sports. Most orders are referring to recreational activity with members of your household. Specifically, Sacramento County has identified softball as a contact sport which is identified as prohibited. We just held a Zoom call with members of all the local park and Rec agencies all of who confirmed that they are following state and county orders and are not allowing softball practices or field rentals. If fields are open, they are available for members of the same household to play catch only. Teams should not be holding practices during this time. Insurance with USA Softball is not in effect. We are working with city and county officials in regards to return to play protocols for when the orders are lifted. The timeline may look different depending which county you live in. We are actively working with officials to try to get softball returned as soon as possible and as safely as possible.

Dear SGSL Players and Families: It is with great sadness that the SGSL Board has voted to cancel the Spring Season. We had hoped that there would be an end to our shelter in place orders but as time has moved on it has not moved in our favor. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching the game of softball to as many girls as possible and we are devastated that we have not been able to do that this season. A more detailed email will be sent on Friday, in regards to... registration fees paid. Before Opening Day even happens SGSL spends over $17,000 in preparation of the season. Here is the breakdown of the expenses that we paid as of Monday April 13, 2020: Software & Marketing: $544.87 Player Insurance (for the 2020 year) + Coaching Staff Background Checks: $5,286.22 Equipment + Supplies: $1,868.05 NorCal Fee: $150 Permits & Rental Fees: $420 Repairs & Maintenance: $1237.52 Uniforms: $6,925.75 Utilities: $1,424.95 Uniforms are in and we will work out details on getting them to everyone as soon as we can. Thank you to everyone who helped Field Prep this weekend. A lot of progress was made and softball fields are now visible. Special thanks to the family members who came out to help pull weeds and still stuck around after learning what that actually meant. Our 12U team also put in a lot of sweat equity so thank you for that! More work will be done next weekend so be ready to pitch in!
