Frequent sanitation is important when pruning. Especially when disease is involved, in order to not further spread to another host or neighboring gardens. I disinfect my equipment before moving to new species and properties. Make it part of the daily routine!

Little Garden install with lots of Love.

This Native Saskatoon Serviceberry got a full facelift today. Pruning not only for looks, but for strength and air circulation is necessary for berry bushes and fruit bearing trees to thrive. Sometimes even the native shrubs can use a little TLC!

This is a Apsen Tree branch that is infested with Oystershell Scale. This Scale can overwhelm its host, often times leading to the death of a tree. It can be found on more than 100 plant species. Recently i have been doing a lot of pruning, and it has become more common to see this scale. Treatment is neccesarry to better the health of your trees and shrubs. As always i recommend a organic solution rather than harsh pesticides.

Perrenial garden design came out great, filled with Apsens, lavender, ornamental grass, russian sage, succulents, mums and nine-bark shrubs. Excited to keep an eye on this and watch it grow
