One of the greatest pleasures of my job is utilizing my background in interior design to help clients make updates to their home and achieve amazing results. Sales hit highs for homes and condos. Not seeing a summer slowdown yet. We had the highest quarterly sales for homes in San Francisco since 2006. That's a big shift. Also, the median price in San Francisco now has gone up to $1.745M AND we had the highest monthly sales for condos in 16 years! Usually people are really concerned about the market slowing down in the summertime. We share those concerns as well on the listing side of things, but to date we haven't seen any slowd...own on prices. I know my kids just got out of school last Friday, so there's still vacations coming. It might happen. We have been advising most of our clients below the $4 million dollar price point that since there's no change in the market at this time, we should not hold back bringing homes to market. We can always pivot if and when we see a change. Let's just keep moving forward. The question remains, will this continue? Why is this happening? I get asked this all the time. The answer is: I'm not sure. I do think the market is going to remain strong. The stock market is doing really well. People in the Bay Area are largely invested in stocks and have more money than ever to put into housing. The fall market is in full swing and buyers are starting to scoop up inventory. Inventory is up almost 80 percent on condo listings, and condo price reductions are up 80 percent over this time last year. Overall, inventory is up about 40 percent in San Francisco, and sales in the city are up between 9 and 10 percent over last yeara result of this increased inventory, but this won't last.
