Our Bar Manager Justin Dicken is always pushing for new recipes and techniques in our cocktail program. Naturally, he added a #simplerc spin on Southern cocktail recipes as our kitchen created the #GrinAndBearItLA takeout menu. Choose from delicious concoctions, including Hurricane Blake (a rum blend with fassionola, tart cherry & fresh lime juice) or SoCal Comfort (mezcal, aji amarillo-infused tequila, orange sweet tea, fresh lime juice & Dolin dry) among other pre-batched options available to-go.

In case you were wondering, our favorite muscle car is the 1965 Pontiac GTO. It is the massive V8 engine that we admire most. So naturally, when we're trying to recreate the best Michelada possible, we had to make sure our Rustic "V8" Juice could live up to this legendary car. The juices in our blend were salted and the leftover pulp from the juicing process was added back during fermentation. Once the V8 became funkafied, it was strained. In true Rustic Canyon fashion, the solids were dehydrated, put through the molcajete and salted again for the rim.

We've got somethin' extra tasty to enjoy for takeout this week...Pimento Cheese Flatbread! We're making this "Chef's Whim" special with smoked sunchoke sourdough and topping it off with pickled cauliflower (which is fermented like giardiniera, with mirepoix, garlic, chili and oregano). Plus, we're using a generous amount of local cream cheese, Hook's aged cheddar, with salted Thai chilies, aioli, herbs and spices. #grinandbearitLA

The Rustic Canyon Family of Restaurants will be closing all of our businesses for the day on Election Day - November 3 - to give our employees time to vote and the opportunity of supporting the democratic process by helping others who might need help getting to the polls on that day. We will pay all regular scheduled staff for this day. We’ve put together internal newsletters in English & Spanish outlining all the official county & state election resources/deadlines, l...ike how to register, check voter status and view sample ballots with local measures & candidates. We've also provided links and suggestions for ways to support the voting process, like volunteering to be a poll worker, driving friends & family to a polling place and more. While our industry has been hit so hard during this time, we felt closing for the day to give our team the freedom and time to enact this right was absolutely vital to our community and the democratic process. It’s because of our community of regulars, out-of-town visitors who make a special trek, our incredible farmers, and so many others, that we can continu...e doing what we love every single day. We look forward to the day when we can have you all back in our dining room. We miss the energy, the laughter, the conversations over beautiful wines and the smiles on your faces when trying a new dish. We've got some news for ya, folks! This Friday 12/4 we are launching a new pop-up called Grin & Bear It featuring a super comforting menu of simple Southern food. Stay tuned for all the yummy details. In the meantime, we'll be closed this Wednesday 12/2 and Thursday 12/3, so we can give our team the time they need for all the proper R&D.

When our Executive Sous Chef Nestor Silva craves ribs, he goes all out. That's why our pork ribs are drizzled with nectarine amba.
