If it's raining, we'll move under the I-5 freeway overpass) **WHEN: Socially distanced/Q1 Kickoff, Saturday, January 2... **WHERE: Meet near the corner of 4th and L Street (next to Macy's) **TIME: 8 am - Agenda consists of: Welcome, quick update, warm-up. Following the warm-up, pace leaders will lead participants out for a 30-minute or 3-mile loop around California's State Capitol. **WHY: For our mental health.....we all NEED TO MOVE, but we need to do it safely. We will practice social distancing. Masks ARE REQUIRED during the warm-up. **WHO: Everyone is invited to this workout. Bring a friend, walkers, run/walkers, runners. Blue Crew members will receive a Drewski's piping hot breakfast burrito following the workout. October means the start of our fall Youth Fitness Program! For this all virtual season, we have 25 schools/sites and 1250 students signed up! They will train for 6 weeks and then complete a virtual 5K during the month of December. We're so grateful to all who make this program possible - coaches, our YFP committee, and our donors! GO RHETT! #moveintolife

Where are they now?? Did you know that when Runnin' for Rhett was initially established in December of 2007, two times each year we awarded $5,000 scholarships to carefully selected local college students that were in a teaching credential program with their focus on teaching children that had moderate to severe challenges? (Like Rhett) We thought it would be fun to check in on some of our scholarship winners and see what they are up to these days. In February of 2011, we awarded $5,000 to a student named Nikki Castaneda. Here's a great photo of Nikki and her family today.....and her story....in her words.
