A year after I left San Francisco, Stacey (a San Fran client) reached out to me to do her hair. She'd been struggling to have someone cut her hair the way she likes it, a cut we perfected for her years ago. So she flew in for her appointment then flew back home later that day (she's not the only client I had in SF that does this - a good hairdresser is harder to find than a good man, it seems ). ... She was so happy and it was so nice to see Stacey. For about 15 years, we’ve been achieving a lovely blonde using high lift color that requires patience to process. Quite often, stylists/colorists want to rush the process and use bleach because it’s faster, but the last time her hair was done, her stylist used bleach and made her way to blonde then had to do lowlights to try and create contrast and tone the color down. Instead, she ended up with lowlights that faded to warm. I used her previous high lift formula, let it process fully, and her color turned out beautiful. Then we cut her hair the way she’s always liked it. We call it a modified, very textured modern shag.

This is why I love Olaplex (and recommend it): I’ve always had a significant color and highlight clientele. One of the things my clients always appreciate is that I only use bleach when it's necessary. In other words, there are many clients who have lighter hair that lifts beautifully with high-lift color.
