Did you know that research shows vote planning can drastically increase the chances of voter turnout? According to reporter Rebecca Heilweil from Vox, institutes such as Harvard and Notre Dame have found that if individuals work out a plan for how they’ll vote like scheduling a time to vote and deciding how they would get to their polling place were more likely to vote than similar voters who weren’t pushed to do so. Creating a plan to vote can more than double the ef...ficacy of standard voter outreach calls from campaigns. So how can you make a plan to vote? It’s a super easy process! Here is a list of steps to take recommended by Tokyo Sand on their blog Political Charge, to make your own voting plan: 1. REGISTRATION: You can find information on your registration deadlines, and how to get registered at https://www.vote411.org/ The registration deadlines for California are October 19th! THIS Monday. More information can be found at https://www.vote411.org/california. 2. ID: Make sure you know whether or not ID will be a requirement by your state prior to voting. 3. BALLOT: Review your candidates and ballot measures ahead of time so you can make an informed decision. Sample ballots are provided by https://www.vote411.org/ as well. Making the plan to vote: 4. WHEN: When will you vote? Set a reminder, and know if you will be visiting a ballot on election day or if you need to meet your state deadline for voting by mail. 5. WHERE: Where is your polling location or ballot drop box? If you are voting at a ballot, Sand recommends visiting https://www.nass.org/can-i-vote/find-your-polling-place, to find the location of your polling place. 6. HOW: How will you get there? Are you driving or do you need a ride? Are there any friends or neighbors that you can go with? Use this step to also know how to ensure your own safety and the safety of those around you regarding COVID-19 precautions when visiting a ballot. Voting is your civic duty. So get out there and vote! Sources: https://www.vox.com//democrats-mail-in-voting-ballots-plan https://politicalcharge.org//make-a-plan-to-vote-3-steps-/ #vote2020

Hello everyone Kalle here! Did you know that Rubber Duck Lab has just released a brand new Active-Book this month? It’s all about the environment, sustainability, and loads of other earth-related topics. I wanted to study one of the many interesting topics covered in this month's Active-Book: the Greenhouse effect! To do this I took inspiration from our Highschool Active-Book and created my own little terrarium by laying some soil in a recycled container and transferring over... a few plants I found in my garden. Experiments similar to this and much, much more can be found in this months Active-Books Sustainable Earth, as well as other fun, highly educational projects that can easily be done in your very own home. Rubber Duck Lab will be releasing new Active-Books every month! Sign up for a subscription at https://www.rubberducklab.org/monthly-subscription and save 20% each month on Active-Books, or buy individually through the store. Thanks for tuning in!
