Jesse Pine's Ride For Shelter has begun! Jesse is riding 3800 miles from Lake Tahoe to Alaska to raise awareness and much needed funds for ShelterBox USA! The Rotary Club of Napa is excited to meet up with Jesse this morning for his Vacaville to Healdsburg leg. I'll be meeting him between 10:30 and 11 at the Stanley Lane Smokehouse near Carneros. The Rotary Club of Napa is excited to welcome Jesse Pine on June 23rd for his Vacaville to Healdsburg leg of his Lake Tahoe to Alaska ride. Jesse is riding 3800 miles to raise money for ShelterBox, a Rotary-affiliated nonprofit based in the UK and San Diego. We look forward to riding with Jesse in a few weeks!

Happy Birthday to our very own and beloved Past President Dorothy Salmon! Dorothy embodies the Rotary concepts of Service Above Self and honors the Four Way Test. Hopefully she’ll take a few days off to herself for her birthday and Mother’s Day, but for people like her, every day is a day of selfless service.

Every December, the Rotary Club of Napa raises money for The Salvation Army of Napa Valley as part of a friendly competition with the Kiwanis Club of Napa, and the "winner" gets to have wine poured by the runner up at our joint meeting the following Thanksgiving. In years past, you may have seen us wearing the Salvation Army's signature red aprons in front of Trader Joe's at Bel Air Plaza, ringing bells and raising funds for the needy. Because of the pandemic this year, we c...an't be out there in person filling our kettles for people in need, but that doesn't mean the need isn't there. Our very own Past President Dorothy Salmon has been working tirelessly to help other Rotary clubs and service organizations use the Pathway Home model bring our veterans back home safely and with the love and respect they deserve. In cooperation with Suzanne Gordon and the Veterans Healthcare Policy Institute, Dorothy, along with other members of our Rotary Club have put together resources and a framework to replicate the 10 years of success at The Pathway Home bringing our vets home, and helping with their PTSD and TBI treatment. It truly is a tribute to our veterans, so that we can continue "Serving Those Who Have Served."
