Thanksgiving Fun!

It has been such a fun week of Holiday Celebrations Here at Agape Villa. Thanksgiving was enjoyed by all and everyone's tummies were full and happy. We are now is Christmas mode complete with movies, hot chocolate and many decorations. More will be shared soon.

Spooky times are happening here at Agape Villa!

Here at Agape Villa we deal with something regularly that most people don't want to think about. Death. We wanted to talk a little about this difficult subject. For the vast majority of our residents we know that when they come to live in one of our homes it will be the last place they live. Sometimes we only get a few short months with them and others we get years. Our goal is to treat each and every resident as family. We work in their home. We want them to be happy and co...mfortable, able to continue their hobbies and interests to the fullest extent possible. Due to the nature of being a family environment our caregivers truly love all of our residents and treat them with dignity and respect. This does make the passing of our residents difficult for us. We have lost a few residents recently and the comment we get a lot is "this must be really hard on the caregivers". That is true. The part many don't realize is the gratitude we have for being able to be with them as family during this difficult time. Giving them all the love and care we can to ease them into this transition. As hard as saying goodbye may be it is an honor and privilege. We are grateful to be able to offer this type of care and know that everything possible is being done to bring love and comfort. Caregiving is not for the faint of heart. We are so grateful to have such a compassionate team of caregivers. While we would love to never have to say goodbye to another resident again, none of us would trade the time we have been blessed with to get to know each of our residents on such a personal level. The joy our residents bring to our day makes all of the hard times worth it.

Our Management team participated in the 5k Walk to End Alzheimer's today. We walked for all those suffering from this terrible disease. Especially for the ones that are dealing with this at our Agape Villa Care Home. Thanks to all those that donated to this cause on our behalf. This walk due to Covid-19 allowed anyone that participated to just walk in their neighborhood so you wont see a crowd like normal walks. Let's join together to continue to fight to end this disease!
