Now observed globally, Dia de los Muertos, is a 3,000-year old celebration with its origins in Mexico and takes place on October 31 November 2. As part of this tradition, families celebrate by preparing altars, also known as ofrendas, which feature a collection of photos, marigold flowers, personal items or favorite foods and drinks, all dedicated to the loved one being honored. The ofrendas are a way to remember and share treasured memories. If you’ve created an altar at home or at Rose Hills, we’ve love to see how you honor your loved ones. Share in the comment below.

Our #FridayFeature is an iconic landmark located in the original part of Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary. Here, we also feature an open-air canopy at Hillcrest Terrace for families to celebrate their loved one's lives. Protect your loved ones and others around you. Please remember to wear a face covering over your nose and mouth and maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet when around others not in your household.

Our pets are family too. Why wouldn't one write an obituary or tell their story? What made your pet so special to you?
