This had to be the hardest hurdle to get over. All of the water in the surrounding neighborhood drained past my project. So every freak storm made my project turn into a lake with the smallest downfall. Then it was the local fire department doing a hydrant blow off test the night before scheduled to pour. And lastly, it got warm, so everyone ran their sprinklers every day or washed their cars. You can't pass a compaction test with wet dirt. Just when it dries out, someone/something ruins your planning. Oh, we damned it up and pumped it out a total of 15 times. Now, finally, I can pave my streets and start houses. To all employers: I have a former employee that I hired from one of the County/State rehabilitation programs. She was arrested while in the car with the wrong person and the wrong stuff. She did a short stint in a minimum security. She was 19 and stupid. They paid for her to work for us for a month to get some on the job training. She wasn't what I need at the time so we let her go after the time was up. I taught her Excel, Word and other functions including some basic Quickb...ooks. She is computer savvy. She was a fast learner and a hard worker. One of the jobs she had was to clean up the office when she finished all of her assigned tasks. There was never a spot of dirt. At one point I came into the office to find her on her hands and knees cleaning the grout in the floor tile. She is looking for a job, entry level. Office or labor. She just needs a chance and I can vouch that she is 100% wanting to make her world better for her and her kid. She is tough and will do anything you ask of her. Finally. After many delays. Starting the stucco on the Figarden Office building. Everyone keeps asking why it stopped. Subcontractor backed out of contract last minute. Had to find a replacement and get them dialed in. Not that easy to do when it comes to contracts and pricing. Kenyon Plastering stepped up to help us out.

Tough to get things moving in a busy construction environment but we are moving along. Curb and Gutter is an exciting day.

My little subdivision is moving along. Finish grading and curb and gutter next. Should start houses in 30-45 days.
