If you’ve met your plan’s deductible or out-of-pocket maximum, most of your appointments should be fully covered or cost significantly less. If so, now is the time to schedule important screenings such as: - Mammography - Bone Densitometry (DEXA) - Low Dose CT Lung Cancer Screening... - Coronary Artery CT Calcium Scoring - Prostate MRI Remember, your health is essential, do not delay important imaging screenings and tests. www.RollingOaksRadiology.com #RollingOaksRadiology #VenturaCounty

This year more than ever it’s vital that we properly, and frequently, wash our hands to stop the transmission of harmful germs. Let’s all do our part to keep each other healthy. The CDC recommends following these five steps when washing our hands: 1. Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.... 2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. 3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the Happy Birthday song from beginning to end twice. 4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water. 5. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them. #NationalHandwashingAwarenessWeek

Today we stand with the Metastatic Breast Cancer community. An estimated 154,000+ women are currently living with metastatic breast cancer in the United States. While metastatic breast cancer is terminal and cannot be cured, it is not hopeless. Because of improved treatments many women can live long, productive lives for many years with this type of cancer. There are a wide variety of treatment options for metastatic breast cancer, and new medicines are being tested every day. #RollingOaksRadiology #MetastaticBreastCancer
As of August 1, 2020, Cigna officially stopped covering most hospital-based MR and CT imaging procedures. The insurer, which is the fourth-largest in the nation, advised its members that freestanding imaging centers offer members a lower cost for medically necessary, non-emergent imaging procedures. It's World Heart Day, and knowing your risk of a cardiac event is important, so let's talk about Calcium Scoring. A coronary CT calcium scan is a simple, non-invasive test that takes only a few seconds, and can detect calcium deposits in the arteries of the heart. It is one of the many risk factors your clinician uses to determine if you have an increased risk of a cardiac event. Candidates for Calcium Scoring can present without any symptoms and can include anyone between th...e ages of 40-79 with the following risk factors: Diabetes Family History of Heart Disease History of Smoking High Cholesterol (LDL levels of 70 to 189 mg/dL) Overweight High Stress Levels Congestive Heart Failure Patients who score a 0 on this exam are generally not in need of preventative therapies immediately (except for cigarette smokers, those with diabetes mellitus and those with a strong history of premature cardiovascular disease). If the score is 0, it is recommended that the patient continues with diet and exercise.
