I was sent this interesting photo. Skate Connection in Sherwood, Arkansas was a skating center that was strongly tied to the community. When it was sold, it was... converted into an Ace Hardware, but the home improvement store understood its connection to the town and kept the the floor INCLUDING THE FIGURE CIRCLES. Everything in these clips were filmed in 2020. It was one year ago today when I was robbed at gun point with 3 guns to my head. Covering the story for 3 days on... the George Floyd protest and riots while using my roller skates to move quickly through the crowd to get the truth why and who was starting the riots. As for my documentary Sk8-Fever documentary one of the episodes is on how Black Lives Matter movement has been a big part of the skate community healing skating outdoors and creating pop ups during a time of a covid shutdown with rinks closing and racial tensions skating has been the great mental health of support and healing. In this clip it starts off showing behind the scenes of me on skates in downtown Oakland filming the protest that then turned into a riot. I’ve filmed many of these throughout the years on my skates including the Oscar grant riots years ago on my skates with footage I still have never released. This video ends with me on night 2 of the riots on May 30th 2020 when I was streaming live at Best Buy. Right when I was turning both phone live camera and movie camera to my right to show the cops standing watching the looting 3 gun men jumped out their car pointing to my head for my camera and phone while it was still streaming live on Facebook. Many friends and family we’re watching that horrible night live thinking the worst of what could of happened to me not knowing. This documentary series I’m still in the works preparing a gofundme fund raiser so I can complete as many series as best I can until finally an investor who believes in my vision will take my craft seriously and help me complete Sk8-Fever. This video is proof I have no time to waste on talkers with no action. I film every week on my own hustling hard trying to make this happen. Luckily I survived that night which has had me since in full action mode shortly after I snapped out of the shocking night. I’m headed back to LA starting this morning to continue filming this series for more interviews and roller skate action. As soon as I raise enough funds I’ll be on a cross country road trip for more rinks and outdoor pop up stories. I’m a life long roller dancer and filmmaker.
