So are you planning on taking your RV or trailer out for a vacation? Many more travelers are choosing to hit the road in an RV instead of flying. As a dog, this makes me happy because it means I get to go with my mom and dad on vacation. Hey, it’s me Guinness again. I thought I would share some info with you. When going camping, things can happen. You know, like bad things that can end up costing you some serious cash. Did you know that you have liability coverage when ...you are on the road in your RV or towing your trailer. That’s because your auto policy covers that. But what about when you get to your campsite? Does your auto liability cover you then? You’re not going to like the answer.......no, it does not. Auto liability covers other people and their property when you get in an accident which you caused. Once you get all settled in your spot, that liability goes away. POOF! But.....you can get Vacation Liability as an endorsement to your RV policy. So, if someone comes through your campsite at night, trips over your Corn Hole game and breaks an arm, you will have coverage. I know what you’re thinking, why would someone want to walk through your campsite? Well, maybe they just don’t want to walk all the way around the grounds to get to the bathrooms. You know, when you gotta go, you gotta go. See? That’s why it’s good to be a dog. I can just go wherever. (As long as my mom picks up after me.). So, if you have an RV policy, talk to your agent to make sure you have this endorsement. If you are thinking of getting an RV, you can give my doggy mom a call and she can get you a great policy and include that Vacation Liability. She really does know about this stuff, that picture is us camping in Northern California. See me? I’m the one watching the food. Give Belyn a call at 707-678-9216, I know she would love to help you find the policy that best suits your needs. See you in the campgrounds. Woof.

It's raining cats and dogs out there! And with all the rain comes slick roads. Driving the speed for the road conditions is not only smart, it is the law. Even if the posted speed limit is 65mph, driving at a slower speed can help you avoid accidents. Here are some tips to help you avoid being involved in an accident: 1. Drive slower. Puddles on the roads can cause your car to hydroplane and make you lose control of your vehicle. Slowing downs allows your tires to make... contact with the road. If your car does hydroplane, do not brake or turn your wheel. Let off the gas pedal. The tires will come back into contact with the road. 2. Don't follow the car ahead too closely. Water on the roads means it will take longer to stop. Also if you have to stop abruptly, you can cause your vehicle to skid causing you to lose control of your car. 3. Turn on your lights. This allows other cars and drivers to see you when visibility is low. 4. Be aware of other vehicles around you. 5. PUT AWAY ALL DISTRICTIONS - ESPECIALLY YOUR PHONE. Taking your eyes off the road to check your phone can mean the difference between avoidance or involvement in an accident. 6. Drive in the track of the car ahead of you. 7. Stay in the middle lanes. Water is more likely to pool on the outside lanes. 8. Keep both hands on the wheel. 9. Avoid using your brakes. Take your foot of the accelerator to slow down. 10. Watch ahead for brake lights. This will give you time to slow down. It is getting dark earlier which makes driving in the rain that much more difficult. By following the above tips you can get to your Christmas Shopping, Holiday parties and home safely. At Rohwer Insurance Agency we care about the safety of you and those around you.

Today is a day to honor all military who have served our country. One of our work family members, Personal Lines Manager Liz Guzman, was with her son and his Cub Scout troop to post a flag, say the name of and salute at the graves of fallen soldiers. We are proud and honored to have Liz and her family as members of our Rohwer Family. Thank you to all members of the military who have have and are still serving.
