A year ago today SF shut down and we sent our entire staff home. Little did we know it'd be the last time we'd be together (in-person) as a group, unmasked, and actually making human contact. Just before we closed we released this video as a tribute to all the rockers and artists who were with us during our Feb / Mar session of classes and had to miss their Big Show, and, subsequently, the remainder of the 2020 school year, the entire 2021 school year, and a whole year of their lives with their buds. We're not out of this mess yet, but we all will be, and, when that happens, RBL will be here for our young rockers and artists and ready to make some ridiculous and great art. Stay well and be stupid - but only when it's funny, America. Geez.

Parents, I know many of you are stressed and at-home school in March was a rough endeavor, but please remember that our kids also experience stress and anxiety (as well as depression). This will probably suck for them and it's likely that you will see many big behaviors and expressions of discontent over the coming weeks, please try your best to be patient with one another and with the young donkeys. Little known fact: Covid can't hurt you if you are way out in space or if you remain deep in your imagination. Our campers have been meeting all summer on a little known planet way in the back of their creative minds called, RBLderon. This week we have written a song and story about a young couple who took a job at a skit resort and ended up being trapped in the Underworld. Both song and story are being transformed into videos by our campers and we are building a D&D type game based on the story so we can spend the rest of the week immersed in the world we have created. Congratulations to all of our rockers and artists for completing one heck of a school year. A special ginormous shout out to our first high school senior graduating class: Siobhan, Jackson, Riley, and Budgie. Three of these rockers were with us since they were four years old, and I've known them known since they were infants. Crazy. Between you and me, Marcus and I cooked up this whole Covid thing just so we wouldn't lose our most senior rockers and artists (who also happen ...to be RBL staff now) to college. Who knew we'd be the clutchy type? Unfortunately our little virus plan worked a bit better than we had planned. Sorry world. SIP is a bummer for all of us, but I can't imagine how maddening this must be for our college bound young adults. They were just about to take off and their wings were clipped. From what I've seen though our RBL high school graduates have handled this crisis with grace and humor, which just increases the already high esteem in which we hold them.
