The Yarra River’s original name is Yarro-yarro, which is a Wurundjeri term in the Boonwurrung language that means ever-flowing. This is an accurate description because the river is a perennial waterway, which means it has a constant flow all year due to years of normal rainfall. Because of its brown color, the Yarra River is often referred to as the upside-down river. Clay soils are responsible for the river’s dark brown, muddy color. The clay soil in the area breaks down... into tiny particles that disperse throughout the river. Several endangered fish species live in the Yarra River, including the Australian Grayling and the Macquarie Perch. It also has 18 species of frogs, 57 species of wetland birds, and 113 species of streamside birds, as well as waterbugs and platypus. Here are some fun facts about the Great Wall of China! The Great Wall of China is one of the world's most famous structures, built to protect China from invasion. As a defense, it was pretty ineffective. The Mongols easily overran it in 1449, and the Manchus in 1644. Grieving family members of those who died while constructing the wall would walk the length of it, accompanied by a rooster. It was hoped that by doing so, the spirits would be freed from the structure.... When constructing the wall, sticky rice flour was used to help hold the bricks in place. This bonded the bricks so tightly that weeds could not grow in many places. Photo credit : @roadtripwithraj #roboair #robo #robomarket #theworldwidelocal See more

Gran Canaria has some of the coolest caves you can visit. Did you know that there are caves that you can discover all throughout the island? While there are many, some are more interesting than others! Cuevas de San Rafael is at the top of our list even though it technically isn’t a real cave. Cuevas de San Rafael is actually an abandoned water reservoir. ... This staircase leads you to an open underground space with huge stone pillars that look like they belongs in ancient Egypt.
