In the second week of RAZ Summer Art Camp, children learned about Africa's cultural richness and color diversity. They painted a rainbow of skin tones that we made by mixing 3 primary colors and white. Kids created cut out books for Safari animals and sculpted them with Iclay; built the wildlife habitat from boards and wood. We painted with coffee, made Ethiopian coffee mugs and plates from clay, and visited the California African American Museum. Every day children stamped their passports and added fun facts and drawings to their journals. On Friday children will make a fabric collage in the shape of Africa with Kente cloth, make Djembe drum, and learn an African dance.
