The SKINNY on fat...not all fats are created equal. Many people are under the impression that they should be avoiding fats since this has been INCORRECTLY recommended for decades. The truth on fats is that we should be eating good fats daily, particularly the omega-3 fats found in fish like salmon, cod, halibut, sardines, anchovies, herring, and seeds like flax and chia. Also omega-9 fats in avocados, almonds, walnuts, olive oil, avocado oil are excellent foods to help de...crease inflammation of our arteries and reduce risk of heart disease and strokes as the omega-3 fats do as well. The Mediterranean and Japanese diets are considered the healthiest in the world because they consume these fats significantly more than the standard American diet of beef, beef, beef, chicken, chicken, chicken, and pork which have omega-6 fats.. All omega-6 fats create inflammation and risk for heart attacks and strokes. Focus more on the omega-3,9 fats to decrease risk of cardiovascular disease. Lamb is a good source of omega-3 fats and part of the Mediterranean culture, which has significantly less heart disease than this country. Ghee, organic butter, MCT OIL and coconut oil are good sources of fat for energy. Avoid vegetable oils like corn, canola, peanut and cottonseed and margarine which contain trans fats that increase risk of cancer and heart disease. Start replacing cheap processed carb snacks with these healthy fats for increased energy and less body fat. When I started eating healthy fats decades ago is when I started to lean out and boost my energy to this day. Health is a choice. Go get it! Even though Freddie Mercury sings that he didn’t know no good from bad, now you know what fats are good! . . . . #wtfiswrongwithourhealth
