Lynn was diagnosed last Thursday with a blood clot in her right lung as well as pneumonia. We were very lucky that it was caught in time. I am reaching out to you for your help. Awareness is needed to help not only Lynn but others that suffer from the Wernicke-Korsakoff (WKS) disease. My sister’s RECENT visit is a prime example of what life is like for WKS patients in senior care facilities. The senior care facility didn’t offer her any physical therapy and just let her ...lay in bed at hours on end for nine months. Lynn is only 46 years old and has the mobility of someone much older. This is the main reason I started a non-profit 501c corporation and opened a home for WKS patients. They require 24/7 care and our home provides physical and cognitive therapy, healthy diet, moral support, 24/7 caregiving, and an on-call doctor. To do all of this it cost money, LOTS of money. All I'm asking for is for you to reach into your pocket and for the price of a tank of gas, a hamburger at McDonalds, or a soft drink from a convenience store would provide so much.
