Online Yoga Class via Zoom Donation based Monday and Wednesday 6:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. PST **Email [email protected] for Link to class**... Good morning, Thank you for being here and for continuing to show up to our online Yoga sessions. It has been quite journey as we find ourselves 6 months into the major changes that we have all undergone. Collective emotions about the pandemic, racial inequality being brought to the forefront of our awareness, and not to mention the unique challenges that each of us face in our personal lives. We've all been through a lot, and I want to acknowledge you for making it this far and hanging in there. Making sure that we are on top of our self-care is pertinent. Consciously dedicating time to cultivate clarity, move our bodies, and relax is a very responsible thing we can do for ourselves and for the people we interact with on a regular basis (the better we take care of ourselves, the better we will be towards other people). If we are fortunate enough to have the luxury of a reliable internet connection and some quiet time to ourselves a few hours a week, all we have to do is decide that this is important and make it a priority. Here are some of the reasons why you might prioritize having a Yoga practice: - Reduction of stress and stress related illness - Improved mental/emotional state - Increased immune function - Better sleep - Physical benefits of increased strength and flexibility - More resilience to deal with the inevitable challenges of life While each of us is unique and we may have different reasons for practicing Yoga, this list could go on and on. My intention is to make the class as accessible and as helpful as possible. Beginners are always welcome so feel free to invite your friends or anyone else who could benefit from this by forwarding them this email. I invite you to reach out to me if you have anything specific you'd like to address in our time together as a group. If you would like more individualized support I am available to work one-on-one where we are able to address your specific needs and goals. See you tonight at 6:30 p.m. Be well,

Hello and happy Monday to you! I hope you had a great weekend and that you are off to a wonderful start to your day. In support of your wellness, this week we will begin to explore the chakra system in our Yoga classes. (Super fun) ... **Email: [email protected] for link to class** Classes are Mon/Wed at 6:30-7:30pm PST online via Zoom What's a Chakra? Chakras are energy centers located in our body that relate to different energetic or emotional experiences that we can feel. Have you ever had "a gut feeling" about something or "butterflies in your stomach"? What about the experience of "heartbreak" or "feeling love in your heart"? These examples are experiences of the chakras that I'm sure we can all relate to on some level. When our chakras are open and in balance, we feel good, our energy is flowing, and it feels as though our affairs are in order. Simply put, the chakra system is a model that helps us to check in with ourselves and the different elements of our experience so that we can practice Yoga in a way that creates more balance in our lives. While Yoga practice does work with the physical body, there are other more subtle things to explore that can be quite impactful if we include them. The way we breathe, the way we focus our awareness, and even just having some quiet space to reflect on these ideas can be quite empowering. This week’s class theme is on The Root chakra: The Root chakra located at the base of the spine has to do with our most primal needs. Stability, survival, and shelter. Earth is the element of this chakra and when in balance we feel safe and secure. In class we will focus on the legs and lower body establishing a solid foundation and connection to the earth while reflecting on our feelings of safety and stability. I am so excited to share this with you; chakra exploration is a lot of fun. You may want to bring a notebook or journal for some personal reflection (svadyaya) after class.

I can attest to this, you cannot unlearn what you have learned. Once you have learned a practice to help you feel grounded and healthy (yoga) it keeps calling you back.
