With the launch of our first Riya Rises: Wedding Crisis Management event two weeks ago, featuring wedding planner experts @vermilionweddings, @kis_cubed_events, and @kiweddings, and another successful event just last week, we plan to build and grow this community as a platform to support, uplift, and share information and resources with all 2020-2022 brides, grooms and vendors whose wedding plans were affected by COVID-19. Such a fantastic evening last night with a@group of really special women who are building south Asian companies, brands, and products in the Bay Area (and some in nyc!). We challenged each other and commiserated over our shared challenges. We were excited to have actress, producer, and all-round inspiration @surinajindal join us in conversation. 2019 was the year we finally took the plunge. After talking about this concept for years, and testing it, us two co-founders finally decided to jump in full time in April. In the second half of 2019 we got our first hundred(s) of customers, our new office space in SF, and most of all built a team of passionate, talented, diverse women walk in every day to challenge and support each other (). We are forever grateful to our family members who asked us what we were waiting for to start this company, our customers who trusted us and shared their special moments with us, and the 3 fantastic women who believed in us and our idea enough to join the team. THANK YOU. Together we are so ready to take on 2020! We've got some exciting news to share with you in January and it's just the beginning....here we go
