Happy New Year! I hope tonight all members of Riverside APA are safe, healthy and looking forward to kicking 2020 in the butt. I am optimistic about 2021. We are all going to be challenged by 2021, but I think we are strong enough to meet these challenges head on. I really expect to be playing pool again by March. Please hang in there, be safe and know I miss each and everyone of you. You guys have kept me going these last 9 months with your calls and texts. I can't thank you enough. Much Love, Kimberly

Just spoke to APA Headquarters. It is official! The USAM, that was to be held in Riverside County, will not be played the first weekend in November. We a...re being rescheduled to January, the exact weekend will be determined in December. At this point you can choose to be moved to January or just request a refund. If you decide to be moved to January and the exact weekend does not work for you, there will be another window to request a refund. APA will be sending out an email this next week with futher details, please be on the lookout for it. We sure do miss running the league, and all of our players. We hope you are all doing ok and staying healthy. Take care and see you soon. Much love, Kimberly

LEAGUE STATUS UPDATE October 8, 2020 With Riverside County entering the red tier, some APA locations are able to open limited indoor operations. Unfortunately, that doesn't help us much, except to show that pool tables can be used according to safety guidelines, so if you end up playing pool somewhere, please do so responsibly to get us on the good side of the authorities. We are still postponed until further notice because we are an activity that brings people together fr...om different households. APA now has dates for the World Championships in 2021. You can check them out at https://poolplayers.com/apa-announces-2021-world-pool-champ. We hope the world is back to normal by then, because this event will be the biggest ever! The pool-playing landscape may be completely different then it is even now, but we will make whatever adjustments are needed to carry on. We continue to adhere to the guidelines set forth by local authorities. We sincerely hope you are all doing your best to stay healthy and safe and we look forward to the time when we can restart. When we do, we will be following APA’s #PlaySafe campaign. If you are able to play some pool, we encourage you to practice playing wearing a mark or face covering so you have a chance to get used to it, as we anticipate it will most likely be necessary when League resumes. Please take care of yourselves and loved ones, check in with your teammates and feel free to contact us. We look forward to seeing everyone across a pool table soon. #PlaySafe #APAStrong

Very sorry to let Riverside APA know that we lost one of our members last week. John Walvatne. He has played with us off and on since 2015. His main team was Ballz n Dollz Monday night out of Hemet Shooters. He also played on The Real Rack and Roll and Final Break. John you will be missed. We will have a memorial tournament for John just as soon as we get back to playing league. RIP SIR.

LEAGUE STATUS UPDATE September 8, 2020 We now know the APA's plans for the remainder of 2020, and it gives us some flexibility when we restart. We also know it... will be at least three weeks from when our counties are moved from the purple tier to the red tier, probably longer since there is a bit of a delay between the state changing the tier and the county allowing businesses to open. What does that mean for us? Family Entertainment Centers, the category under which locations with pool tables fall, cannot open indoor operations until the orange tier, then it's at 25% capacity. In the yellow tier indoor operations are allowed at 50% capacity. That's the locations. We are in a gray area. The Bar guidance (intended for bars without amusement equipment like pool tables, who can't even open indoor operations until the yellow tier) mentions that activities that bring people together from different households must be cancelled or postponed until further notice. There is no such mention in the guidance for Family Entertainment Centers but we are concerned that local officials will use that sentence from the Bar guidance to keep us from restarting even when our locations can open. Therefore, we are attempting to have that sentence clarified in the Family Entertainment Center guidance. When we are able to resume, we now have a better sense of how it will go. It likely won't be until October, so we will probably skip both Summer and Fall 2020 Sessions. We will run as much of the remaining Spring 2020 Session as we can, then go to Spring 2021. There will be a World Qualifier event for league year 2019-2020 (hopefully in January or February) and the winners from that event, three teams in each format, will qualify for the World Championships in August 2021. There will be another World Qualifier event (hopefully in June) for teams that qualify in Spring 2021. From that event, APA will determine the number of winners from each format based on us only playing one session and the number of teams we have that session, and those winners will also qualify for the August 2021 event. In the event that a team wins both qualifiers, they will receive additional travel assistance but will only be entered in the event once. The runner-up from their bracket in the 2021 World Qualifier will be offered a spot in the event, but possibly with reduced or no travel assistance. This is all subject to change, of course, based on when and how we are able to start leaguevplay. LEAGUE STATUS UPDATE August 7, 2020 We are now past the point where we can simply "pick up" where we left off and finish Spring Session 2020 as originally sched...uled, then hold Tri-cups and WQ's as planned. Unfortunately, what we do will depend on when we can do it. We do know that when we are allowed to resume, there will be some sort of conclusion to Spring, including playoffs, Tri-cups, and MVP's. How much of the remaining Spring schedule we play is up in the air. We will be skipping (at least) one session to catch up with the APA's yearly schedule. We may not be able to run WQ's for this year, but if we can't we guarantee there will be something for qualified teams (those already qualified and those that qualify at the conclusion of Spring Session). When we restart we will work with APA to determine what that is. We lost one of our founding members of Riverside APA today. Michael Bracamontes. I have no words for the loss. Mike did so much to help us get started.... He was such a calming voice in times of stress. And he administered much ass whooping on the table. Mikey rest in peace my friend. You are free from all the pain you were in. See more

APA NATIONAL NEWS The August event has been cancelled BUT the tournaments have been rescheduled! The Jack & Jill Event and the Team Captain Event have been mov...ed back in with the WPQ event in November/December 2020. The 8-Ball & 9-Ball Doubles events have been moved to April 2021. They will double those events and add the players from the 2021 events together. So, hang in there Riverside APA players. The qualified teams are still going to get to play. Be safe! So, I have been getting a ton of calls asking why Riverside APA has not resumed our activities. I have been stating, because the Gov will not allow it. Ba...sically I am classified as an organizer of events and tournaments. And prohibited from scheduling events that bring people together from different households. I am following the guidelines set by the State of California and the County of Riverside. If others choose to do differently, that is their choice. My number one concern is, and always has been, the players in my league Riverside APA. I am going to continue to monitor the regulations. Please be patient and follow the guidelines. I believe we will get back up on our tables and be kicking butt soon. Much love, Kimberly
