Honest moment from me (Silas): I’m sitting here wondering what I could say of value to you. What can I give you as you scroll through your social media feed looking for something? I want to give you something more than just music. As I’m typing this, I still don’t really know what I want to say... Here’s what I’ll do - I’ll write a long post that keeps your attention off of all the dark, evil, depressing content that has saturated your feed lately. ... *spends 5 minutes writing a thing that just highlights the darkness we’re living in* I guess that’s where we are though. We’re living in a dark and broken world. The church has historically been a place that declares truth and hope in the midst of suffering, chaos, and fear. So here we are. I want to give you hope. I want to speak truth. This music is meant for God’s glory and your blessing. What have you been saved from? God was sovereign over that - whatever it was! More than that, he offers salvation to man without preferential treatment, without condition, without requirements to pay back what he offers. God saves and loves because it is in his nature to do so. Sinners are born again by God’s grace, having brought nothing worthy of such a gift. It’s amazing because the more we realize just how broken we are, the better it gets. What do I mean by that? Your life apart from Christ is a mess. As a Christian, life remains a mess. I won’t fake it, and you don’t have to fake it either. When I wrestle with doubt because of what I’ve done, I can rest peacefully and joyfully because his grace and mercy is greater than my sin. When life is hard and we’re hurting, we can stand secure in God’s promises, because he’s told us that he’ll work all things for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose. That’s a promise for his people. Nothing takes that away. There is freedom secure in Christ. God made it all and He’s sovereign over it all. I am not. My hope is in Jesus. Walk in the reality of what he’s done. Know Christ, grow in Christ, and go for Christ.

Hello friends! A few months ago, I started working on some alternate versions of the songs that have been released. I wasn’t really sure when or how to use them. I wasn’t sure when would be a good time to share them with all of you. In the middle of this wild time, I need to remember that God is sovereign. This is overwhelmingly good news for followers of Christ. His sovereign goodness and love is for His people; and if our God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)... The bridge to this song has been so meaningful to me every time we sing it together. Pain, anxiety, fear, loss, sickness - these things are real, God is greater! Rest in this truth today. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
