What a way to kick off the official start of Pride month! I’ve lived in Hermosa Beach for 10 years this August, and I have never been more proud to be a resident. Receiving the proclamation last week and seeing the flag get raised last night has left me feeling all the feels. #pridemonth is about being recognized by our fellow humans. It’s a way to show the lgbtq+ community that we are scene, we are heard and we are loved. Rainbows and unicorns are cute, but i...t’s about remembering all that our community has endured over the years. It’s also, a reflection of how far we still need to go. Our trans, non binary and gender non conforming folks are under constant attack, both politically and by senseless acts of violence and discrimination.
