We know folks are wondering about the next Rim To Rim Trail Run, and we're still working hard to sort out the logistics to make it happen again. For those that have been eager to race the trails of Chico again, we've got something new for you: the Ouroboros Trail Run! Here's their race announcement for May 12, 2018: --- Are you looking for some variety in your running adventures? Come out and join us Saturday, May 12th, 2018 for the inaugural running of the Ouroboros Trail Ru...n! It's simple, we've set up a 6-mile loop through the trails of Upper Bidwell Park, right here in Chico, CA. A little uphill, a little downhill, and you're done... with one lap! Instead of telling you how far you have to run, we'll have the timer running. All you have to do is complete as many laps as you can in either 6 or 12 hours. Does 6 hours seem like a long time to be on the trail? We've got you covered. Grab a running buddy and be a part of the 6 hour relay event. Relay partners are *not* required to run the same number of laps, so this is the perfect way for runners of different skill levels to be a part of the same event. Whether you want to run 6 miles or 60, solo or with a friend, the Ouroboros Trail Run is the event for you. Greetings Rim To Rim Trail Runners, With 2017 upon us I wanted to give everyone an update on the race. After much deliberation I've decided not to hold the Rim To Rim Trail Run this year. Putting on this event takes quite a lot of time and energy, and I'm going to take 2017 to recharge and regroup. Some of that will involve looking at the course and the distance offerings, and seeing what is best for the race and the runners. Some will be a consideration of volunteer recruitm...ent and management. And some will simply be me out there running some races where other folks have done all the hard work and I get to just put one foot in front of the other. I appreciate all the support I've received from runners, volunteers, sponsors, and the community over the 2015 and 2016 events. While putting on a race can be stressful, I've enjoyed being able to give back to the running world. People from other cities, states, and countries have had a chance to run on the trails of Chico, and I'm grateful to have been a part of that.
