I have committed my life and career to addressing the housing crisis in the Bay Area and in California. And for the sake of housing this generation of Californi...ans and the next I'm asking for your help to vote NO on PROP 21. Prop 21 will severely impact the production of housing in a state that needs 3.5 million additional housing units. Rent control has proven time and time again to be bad public policy and leads to higher rents over time, not lower rents. Prop 21 would make current controls even more extreme as it allows cities and counties to enact vacancy control. Rents would never reset to market, even when a tenant moves out.
