Hi folks! we know on June 15th California is allowing fully vaccinated to unmask in the majority of places. We at Revival are thrilled at the progress our community is making and are so glad we are in a less scary time of this horrible pandemic. We know that many of you are ready to shed the mask, and we cannot wait to see your smiling faces We have made the decision that until children be fully vaccinated, which will hopefully be in the fall, we will continue to require masks inside our business. All of us here have become pros at wearing our masks all day and will continue to do so until we know it’s safe for children. If you have any issues with this you’re welcome to reach out for clarity or dialogue. See you soon!

We are less than a week away from June 15th, when California is lifting most regulations regarding safety due to Covid-19. Here at Revival we will continue to require guests and staff to keep their masks on until children are able to safely be vaccinated. Okay! After 6.5 months of being closed- we have the green light!! Thank you Alameda County and Berkeley! Be patient with us friends, we have some logistics to work out before we start scheduling- but stay tuned!

Hi all! Just wanted to send you a little hello and check in.

We are over the moon to announce that when we are allowed to open, we will be joined by our dear friend Michele. Michele is an amazing stylist who has happily spent her past 14 years at the incredible Thirteen Salon, in Walnut Creek. Her talent, professionalism and style have inspired many. She has only decided to make the move over to this side of the tunnel because she will be pursuing school for social work full time during the week. We are so lucky to have her with us on the weekends once we can be back in the shop!

As many of you may have heard Governor Newsom has announced that California is allowing barbershops and salons to provide outdoor services, even if their county is on the state's watch list. Revival Barber+beauty does not have a safe and secure space for our stylists and barbers to work outdoors. And it’s been confirmed that the city of Berkeley is not allowing outdoor services. Our shop is a sanitary, controlled environment that is significantly more safe and clean than a... pop up tent outside. There are multiple limitations and liabilities that we are taking into account in regards to why we have decided to not push to move forward with this ‘option’ some examples of this are extremely hot days, rain, not having safe power sources, and only dry haircuts- no shampooing, no blow drying- no color services would be allowed. You can only imagine how much we all want to be able to work, but this is simply not an option for our crew. With all this said, when it is declared safe for our staff to perform services inside our beautiful space, we will return to giving our guests the quality and professional services they trust to expect at Revival. In all seriousness .... we were anticipating opening in the next few weeks until we got the word from the mayor and the county, that due to the rise in positive cases, they are slowing the opening process. What does this mean? It means we are back to the place or not sure when we will open This said, we know what will make this move along faster is all people caring about each other and wearing their masks at all times in public settings, wash your hands and stay home as mu...ch as possible! We know that some counties are open- some even right next door to us! But ours is not, and we need to trust the numbers and refrain from visiting other counties, when possible because that is defeating the purpose of county specific orders. Please remember how many people with COVID-19 have no symptoms. This means anyone can have it- and not know. The city of Berkeley is offering free testing for residents, people who work in Berkeley and anyone who wants to be tested! We highly recommend taking advantage of this! Increasing testing numbers and testing people who are negative- lowers the positive rate! And that shows the county, city and state when it’s safe to reopen. Just as we thought we were getting closer... The Office of Emergency Services noted Alameda County’s case rate per 100,000 residents has increased from 63.2 to 71.1 over the past seven days and said the hospitalization rate has also increased over the last week. The release said this week will be critical for assessing the impact of activities authorized to resume in Alameda County on June 19, and we will continue to closely monitor our data to inform next steps regarding r...eopening and attestation. What does this mean? It means that if cases keep increasing they will not moving on to the next phase and possibly pulling back on some of the things they’ve allowed. Please for the love of hair, wear your masks- know that we are far from clear from risk and the SIP is not over. We need to be safe and staying home as much as possible and avoiding being around folks not in our pods.
