Announcement! We are coming back this Fall with an original piece written by Lee Williams, Julian Rey Ortega and Aerin Morneau. We will be recruiting actors soon, so be on the look out for this opportunity to perform. We can't wait to be back on stage for you.
Our dear friend Jill McMahon passed away recently. Jill was a member of the Sacramento theater family. She will be missed. We send our love to her family. https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/sacbee/obituary.aspx
Theater is back. CHAUTAUQUA PLAYHOUSE IS HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THE REOPENING OF THE THEATRE ON MAY 28, 2021! The re-opening show will be "The Savannah Sipping Society", a delightful southern comedy that is sure to have you laughing. There will be weekend performances for a 5 week period (Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, & Sunday matinees at 2 pm).... Limited tickets are now available. Additional seating may be added as State mandates change. We anticipate being able to increase capacity on June 15. At this point, advance purchase of tickets is a requirement as we are not allowed (by mandate) to sell tickets at the door. Also, concessions will not be available, but bottled water will be supplied. Other requirements may be temperature check and proof of vaccination, or a recent Negative COVID-19 test, less than 72 hours old. For your safety and protection, the wearing of masks and social distancing is required ABOUT THE SAVANNAH SIPPING SOCIETY: THE STORY: In this delightful, laugh-a-minute comedy, four unique Southern women, all needing to escape the sameness of their day-to-day routines, are drawn together by Fateand an impromptu happy hourand decide it’s high time to reclaim the enthusiasm for life they’ve lost through the years.
