We are doing a series of updates on the #Moxie7! Momma Moxie came to us in 2017 from a local shelter and gave birth to 7 adorable puppies. Mel and her family tell us: "We moved to Hawaii. Initially she hated the water. Now she swims all the time!" What a lucky dog, swimming in Hawaii sounds wonderful! ... Puppy photo by Allison Shamrell Pet Photography

Biden is ready to find a forever home! He is a 5 month old Labrador mix rescued from Mexico. His foster tells us: "Biden is super happy and adorable. He is silly and very curious. He loves to play with toys, dogs and people. He’s slightly shy but warms up pretty quickly. He is cuddly and just super joyful. It’s fun to watch him entertain himself with toys." If you would like to meet Biden please fill out an application at www.TheRescuedDog.org.

Tia is adopted! Tia came to us from Mexicali and we knew right away she had a serious medical condition. She was diagnosed with Mega Esophagus, a condition that affects a dogs ability to get food into the stomach. Dogs with ME often regurgitate their food which can cause aspiration and pneumonia. As luck would have it, Tia’s awesome foster is a speech and language pathologist so she was more than equipped to help Tia with her condition. Dogs with ME need to eat from an elevat...ed platform or seated upright to help gravity get the food where it needs to go. Tia needed to he held and burped like an infant after eating. Her foster tried different foods to find the best consistency for Tia to keep her food down. Once she was ready for adoption we knew it would take a special adopter to commit to managing Tia’s condition which is likely permanent. Well luck took it one step further and Tia’s new mom is ALSO a speech and language pathologist who was looking for a puppy with ME who could be trained as a therapy dog for her practice! We love a fateful ending!!

This is Marshall! He is a 70 lb pittie mix and is 70% love and 30% wiggles. He is a sweetheart and will do whatever you want. Whether that’s hanging on the couch with you or going for long walks, he lets you lead. He loves to play fetch with a ball and adores snuggles with his humans. He would thrive in a home without kids or older kids that can handle his energy/size. He is well socialized with other dogs but does need some additional training off leash as he is still learni...ng how to play gently. He is crate and potty trained. Knows how to walk on a loose leash, sit, stay, down and his recall is getting better by the day. He has worked with a trainer for a few months and definitely is a good listener. He needs a family that can be assertive and give him direction when needed. He is a sweet boy that just wants a family to love him back. Someone will be super lucky to have him! Marshall is a courtesy post. If you would like to meet him please fill out an application on our website and we will put you in contact with his people!

Meet adoptable RBG! Ruth was saved from extreme neglect and starvation in MX. This shy girl is coming out of her shell nicely and is now looking for a home that will continue to build her confidence, work with her insecurities and be her pack leader. RBG is potty trained, crate trained and is an extremely quick learner. She is a pleaser and food motivated which is making her training easy and successful. In the house, she is balanced, well behaved (minus the occasional sneaky... counter surf) and a HUGE snuggle bug. Outside the home the unknowns can lead to some insecure behavior, namely leash reactivity. Ruth needs help with impulse control on the leash and slow, controlled introductions to other dogs. This sweet love bug is a high energy working breed; she will need her physical and mental energy needs met daily. We have no doubt that with the right environment and consistent training, she will continue to flourish into an amazing, loyal companion. At approximately 9 months old RBG is still a goofy, playful puppy and a perfect age to begin a regimented training program. She is approximately 32 pounds and still needs a few more pounds for her ideal weight. Her foster family loves her affectionate snuggles and silly, playful personality. RBG is looking for a home with a yard and owners with working breed dog knowledge and a commitment to training. We are recommending a calm environment without small children or cats. Ruth would do well in a home with a slightly older, confident, calm canine companion, preferably male. If truly saving a dog is important to you, look no further. Creating a bond with Ruth through leading and training and watching her transformation will be truly rewarding for both of you. If you are looking for a potential running partner, hiking dog or agility performer with a fun, sweet, affectionate personality RGB is your girl! If you would like to meet her please fill out an application on our website and her adoption coordinator will be in touch.
