Our church wide fast starts tomorrow (1/10)! We’ll be fasting from Monday dinner to Tuesday dinner. Prayerfully consider what God may be calling you to fast for! If you are unable to fast from food, consider something like meat, sweets, watching shows, social media etc. Aim to stick with this fasting commitment for the entire 21 days. Join us for our 21 days of prayer and fasting! To start off the new year we want to dedicate 21 days to praying together as a congregation and fasting. Starting on Monday, January 10th, we’ll start off with morning prayer Monday through Friday on Zoom. We will also fast from food from Monday dinner to Tuesday dinner (breakfast and lunch). If you are unable to fast from food, choose something else that you will fast from.... This is a call to fast for spiritual breakthrough! Fasting is a powerful form of prayer to God and meant to be a regular part of our life. Join the congregation during these 21 days and see what God has to offer. It has been a blessing to see our church community around us assist and support Renewal since we weren’t able to meet at the Sunnyvale Community Center during the Christmas season. We will be back at our usual location (and time) at the Sunnyvale Community Center for worship this Sunday and also on Zoom for those that can’t make it in person.

With all of the recent news regarding Omicron making the headlines, we want to take a moment to remind you of the safety precautions we've been taking every Sunday and will continue to take at the Sunnyvale Community Center. We are diligently monitoring the public health situation and will continue to stay updated on county guidelines. Our desire is to honor our Lord’s call for us to gather together as a worshiping community, and to do so with wisdom and prudence. 2021 has be...en a challenging year, and it may feel like the world is stepping into 2022 with a great deal of uncertainty. As Christians, our confidence rests in the fact that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). We rejoice in the fact that we can continue to expect this new year to be full of the grace of God! Happy New Year from Renewal Church!

Thank you Iranian Christian Church - Sunnyvale for hosting today’s Afghan Refugee Outreach Seminar. It was a powerful exhortation to Bay Area churches to pray and prepare for the 20,000 Afghans expected to arrive in the next few years, and to be partners to the ministry already happening to the 60,000 Afghans currently living in the Sacramento / East Bay area. Purchase plain bread (matzo or crackers are fine too) and grape juice before 10 AM, Sunday, 1/3/21.... 2. Half an hour before service starts, with reverence and respect, prepare a small plate with a bite-sized piece of bread/cracker and a small cup of juice (one plate per person). 3.
