Every Saturday, our amazing Chef Aaron takes us to a different country. Today we visited Mexico. As we placed our decorations out, Ed pointed at the picture of El Castillo and stated "I have been there" When asked about it, Ed shared how he traveled there with his parents before his sister was born and recalled climbing up all those stairs.... This is why the MMIT program here at Regency Palms is so important. We focus on the memories and revisit what our residents know and remember to continue to give them the next extraordinary chapter in their lives. We all know how important it is to stay hydrated, especially in the summer. For our residents with dementia, getting enough water can prove difficult because they may forget to drink or may not be able to communicate that they are thirsty. This can lead to health problems like headaches, confusion, UTIs or gastrointestinal issues. As part of our five directional paths of our Montessori Moments in Time programming, our Dining Experience features six small meals a day and offers time to socialize, hydrate and meet their nutritional needs. #NationalHydrationDay
