UPDATE Godinez was located and arrested on the warrant on 6/16/2021 and transported to Fresno County Jail The Reedley Police Department is looking for information that could lead to the arrest of Rodrigo Godinez, 22 years old. Godinez is wanted for robbery. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Godinez, please call Valley Crime Stoppers at 559-498-STOP or submit a time online at valleycrimestoppers.org

WANTED FELON ARRESTED On Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at approximately 9:40am, Reedley Police Officers were dispatched to Hotel Paisano in the 1300 block of E. Manning in Reedley for a Check the Welfare. While en-route, officers learned that one of the involved individuals was a known gang member with active warrants. As Reedley Police Officers arrived in the area of Ponderosa and Haney, the subject, Marcos Souza, fled from officers on foot. Souza then began running southbound ...on Haney, eventually hopping fences into the backyards of nearby houses. Reedley PD officers setup a perimeter, deployed a drone and a K9. Officers conducted yard-to-yard searches of backyards in the area. The subject was eventually located in a shed in one of the backyards and taken into custody without further incident. Marcos Souza is a known Sureno gang member, who is wanted by multiple agencies. Souza has active warrants for Carjacking, Child Endangerment, and Domestic Battery to Spouse/Cohabitant.

This past week I spent 8 hours being part of a training that I had mixed feelings about. That training was Why’d You Stop Me (WYSM) hosted by the Madera Count...y DA’s office. At the conclusion of the training I found myself questioning how I interacted with my community in the past and all the missed opportunities to provide a better understanding of what I did. Most importantly I missed the opportunity to ask my community what they did not understand of what I did as a police officer or why I did it. WYSM is a unique approach of encouraging police officers and the community they serve to work together to create a better relationship focused on mutual understanding. This course caused an epiphany in how I think and how I need to interact with my community. Thank you Jason Lehman, Mando Cordova and Zeena Valenzuela for your expertise and your amazing testimonials. Mando Cordova you asked what are the 10 things I want my community to know about me, well here you go. I love my GOD I love my FAMILY I love my PROFESSION (Law Enforcement) I love the community I serve I live by the motto, Service Above Self (Rotary) Work ethic was taught to me by my parents I grew up in large family, all boys, and worked the fields of the Central Valley growing up Empanadas are my go to snacks Horseback riding and hiking are my hobbies If I can accomplish so much in my life, why can’t you? Reedley’s Holiday Lane Reverse Parade & Tree Lighting!
