Redwood Treehouse Rental

May 2019. Life is beautiful.

I could not keep the deck dry.. I could only work on it as i could afford materials...So i had tarps hainging over the deck From bolts with turnbuckles i had put into the three trees 16 feet above the deck during an extremely wet season..trying to keep it dry until i could build...Finally decided i would build the roof on the deck, between the trees and jack it up and set it on three posts..One next to each tree.... Then i could drape tarps to enable me to frame the walls...a...nd keep it dry as much as possible.. I was working for a local glass studio which specialized in restorations at the time, and it was only for the insurance....to keep my family from medical expenses that i worked in a Nazi sweat shop... The treehouse was my creative outlet... My escape from the nastiness of stained glass restorations to something more personally creative... Yes primitive but essential to my existence. See more

My son, Augustine, made this beautiful sign marking the trail to the Treehouse. He carved the lettering with tools that belonged to his grandfather. I love it.
