In Revelation 8-11 there are 7 angels and 7 trumpets. With each trumpet the 7 scenes of the 2nd vision of events on earth are introduced. Each trumpet will unleash plagues on the earth for the purposes of causing the unbelieving portion of the human race to repent (see 9:4, this is key to understanding the purpose of this plague).
